BLCRC is a children’s home in the Zimmerman district of Nairobi, Kenya, that supports nearly 100 orphans and other children in need as well as their families to receive shelter, food, education, health care, and other vital necessities. Loving Home Ministries began assisting BLCRC in 2020 after the outbreak of the COVID pandemic. The resulting loss of donor funds from a countrywide shutdown had threatened to end the facilities’ ability to provide continued support to these children and local families. Luckily, with the support of our valued donors, LHM was able to help keep the childrens’ home operational throughout the pandemic.

Currently, in addition to assisting with rent, food, and other necessities that support the home, LHM is working to help BLCRC purchase and setup a new expanded facility (including a live/work/grow/learn design with onsite boys and girls dormitories, a schoolhouse, a church, and farmable land used to grow food for consumption and sale) outside of Nairobi that can better accommodate the nearly 100 children who regularly receive support from them. The current home they operate out of provides only a 2 bedroom apartment with a single bathroom, and residents can only get running water 2 times per week.
